Design process

Recently I began the design process for my final University project. This is something that I had been putting off for weeks and weeks because I wanted to make sure I knew my topic and ideas were solid before I put the time into the designs and completing my sketchbooks.
Though I am still slightly unsure as to how to make my designs speak for the whole project, as I wanted to host an exhibition and have a small presentation before hand, I realised that the costumes in this project are art pieces in their own rights. Perhaps this is a bigger focus, the presentation and exhibition may have been fun but now I am able to do what I have wanted to for such a long time now.
I am not designing for a performance or a specific reason other than to create art and reflect on it in my written assessment. For three years I have been wanting to create stand alone art through the mode of costume, and I finally get to do it.
Its the small things in life that make me smile and after realising this, I now feel empowered to start my sketchbook work.
Wish me luck, Creators!
