Costuming during lockdown

During the lockdwon I decided to focus a bot more on my academic work as well as my part time job. I realised that as much as costume is an art form in its own right, like any art, there needs to be some inspiration or stimulus to base the art off. When all you see is the same four walls each day, there is very little inspiration and therefore very little creativity. I realised that a lot of the ideas that I wanted to explore would require a chunk of time in which I can be creative.

So I have set myself a challenge.

My challenge is to find inspiration around me things like plants, nature or architecture.

This may sound like a simple task, but I suppose when locked down, artists may feel slightly silenced by the lack of inspiration. This is just a reminder to myself that anything can be inspiring, if I let it.

Stay Curious, Creators!
