Design Day.

After a full day of design, I have come to a realisation.

I am finding it so hard to design anything whitout linking to certain fashion trends.

My research topic for my final project is looking at the role of fashion trends on theatrical costume. I guess I am a walking example of the sort of thing I will be writting about in my evaluation.

Why is it so hard to draw anything without it looking like some sort of fashionable item?

It has led me to develop a few new research question for my thesis:

Should a costume designer aim to design something for the theatre that has never been done before, and is this possible?

How do costume designers use fashion trends in their costume designs?

I am sure that more will come the deeper into the process I get, however I am realising that everyday I could add a new research question.
